Jobs at Rape Crisis

Rape Crisis (England and Wales) is a registered charity and umbrella body supporting and co-ordinating a network of independent member Rape Crisis Centres.  We promote the needs of women and girls who have experienced sexual violence and strive to improve services to them.  The past five years have been a period of growth and success, during which we’ve not only achieved our major campaigning goal of ‘no more Rape Crisis Centre closures’ but surpassed it to the point where we’re now supporting new Centres and services year on year.

At this important and exciting time, RCEW is recruiting to two new staff posts.  We’re looking for women with excellent communications skills, who are committed to effective team-working and to RCEW’s values and ethos.  In return, the successful candidates will receive ample learning opportunities and the rewards of being part of this dynamic and inspiring movement.

Performance Co-ordinator

The main purpose of this role is to performance manage, co-ordinate and enable the effective delivery of RCEW’s work. With a proven track record in a related field, this woman will facilitate strong internal communications between the teams and individuals that make up RCEW.

Business Development Officer

This worker will lead on and oversee the current and future business development of RCEW, working towards sustainable funding for all existing and planned pieces of work.  She will also contribute to the sustainability and growth of the RCEW membership.

Further information for both posts:

Hours: 24 per week

Salary: £27,429 – 30,857 per annum (actual) plus 5% pension contribution

Both posts are fixed-term for 12 months, with the firm intention to extend provided suitable candidates and further funding are secured.

Ideally, each worker will be based within a member Rape Crisis Centre in one of the following locations: Croydon, London; Grays Thurrock, Essex (Business Development Officer only); Northampton; Worcester; Hereford; or Bradford, West Yorkshire.  We’re nonetheless willing to negotiate a home-working alternative for the right candidate if none of these are within commutable distance for her.

Rape Crisis offers services to women and girls who’ve experienced sexual violence within a women-only safe space.  It is an occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010 for these posts to be filled only by women.  RCEW is an equal opportunity employer and is seeking qualified candidates who contribute to the diversity of the organisation.
