Coventry Women’s Voices congratulates Bob Jones on his election as Police and Crime Commissioner for the West Midlands.

At our women’s question time meeting which he attended on 31st October Bob Jones, along with all the other candidates for PCC, made a commitment to reverse the decision of the West Midlands police not to refer rape victims in Coventry to the SARC in Nuneaton.  A link to the article in the Coventry Evening Telegraph can be accessed here.

Coventry Women’s Voices welcomed this commitment at the time and calls on Bob Jones to repeat his commitment to Coventry victims of rape now he has been elected.

Women in Coventry who want to remind Bob Jones of his promise, or raise any other issues with him, can contact him via the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner website: http://www.westmidlands-pcc.gov.uk/ or on twitter @WestMidsPCC

  1. Didn’t he also sign up to the Coventry Women’s Voices 7 point petition? I hope that he’s held to account on the other points too even though personally I’d say that the SARC issue is a particularly high priority part.

  2. Yes, he did, Elizabeth. Thank you for your support.
